Why the elephant?

What’s in a name? At Elefant we think names and brands can represent many things – like the parable of the elephant encountered by a group of blind men – one thinking it like a wall, another a tree trunk, yet another a snake, and the fourth a spear.

One of Rudyard Kipling’s Just So Stories, The Elephant's Child/How the Elephant got his Trunk, tells how elephant trunks became long when an insatiably curious elephant wanted to know what crocodiles ate for dinner getting his trunk stuck in the crocodile’s jaws asking the question.

We all know elephants never forget. Elefant is named in memory of listening to Kipling’s stories and their whimsical, memorable tales as a child.
